Saida Karoli (born April 4, 1976) is a renowned Tanzanian traditional singer and performer from Bukoba, known for her "natural" style, mesmerizing vocals, and hits like "Maria Salome". Rising to fame in the early 2000s, she popularized the Haya-influenced folk music genre across East Africa, earning nicknames like "Wanchekecha" and performing at major events like Zanzibar's Sauti Za Busara.

Birthplace: Born in Rwongwe, a village in the Bukoba Rural district of the Kagera Region, near Lake Victoria.
Background: Raised in a traditional setting where she learned music from her mother, despite initial local disapproval of girls singing.
