Sandra Tetta has publicly defended her husband, singer Weasel, following criticism over his alleged treatment during the vigil of the late musician Master Parrot.
Reports circulating earlier this week claimed that Weasel was forced to leave the vigil held in Kiwatule.
According to the allegations, some attendees were unhappy with his appearance at the event because he was dressed in yellow, a color commonly linked to the ruling NRM party.
The incident quickly sparked debate online, with many people sharing different opinions about what happened. Addressing the controversy, Sandra Tetta called on the public to stop attacking Weasel and instead appreciate the impact he has made on Uganda’s music industry throughout his career.
She emphasized that despite the challenges and mistakes he may have faced, Weasel deserves recognition for his contribution to the entertainment sector.
“People should not judge someone simply because of the color they choose to wear,” Sandra said, adding that wearing yellow does not automatically mean a person supports a particular political party.
Sandra further noted that, like many public figures, Weasel has experienced his share of controversies over the years. However, she believes those issues should not overshadow the positive role he has played in shaping Uganda’s music scene.
Her comments have added a new perspective to the ongoing discussion, with supporters arguing that artists should be respected for their achievements regardless of political assumptions, while critics continue to debate the circumstances surrounding the vigil incident.
