The Court of Kamuli District has officially declared Mastula Namatovu as the legitimate Member of Parliament for Kamuli Municipality overturning the previous complaints that were risen by Hon. Baroda Watongola Kayanga. The court ruling followed a detailed vote recount after concerns were raised over the accuracy of the initial tally. After examining the evidence and verifying ballots from all polling stations, the court found that Mastula Namatovu had in fact secured the majority of valid votes. In its decision, the court emphasized that the Electoral Commission’s initial declaration did not reflect any errors in the results of the election and instructed that

the official records be updated to reflect Namatovu as the winner, as it was at first.
